John Cena may be recovering from WrestleMania 41, but he supported his hometown team during the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Undisputed WWE Champion, alongside actor Idris Elba, appeared in a special video message on ESPN and NFL Network during Night 2 of the draft. Together, they helped announce the New England Patriots’ third-round pick, wide receiver Kyle Williams from Washington State.
Still feeling the impact of his hard-fought main event against Cody Rhodes, Cena told fans he couldn’t be in Green Bay in person but proudly represented the Patriots from afar. A lifelong fan of New England sports, Cena’s cameo added an extra spotlight to the Patriots’ rebuilding efforts.
Cena was also featured during Friday’s WWE SmackDown broadcast. WWE confirmed that Cena’s first title defense will take place at Backlash next month, where he will face Randy Orton in another major showdown.
