Summary
– Natalya will face Kenzie Paige for the NWA World Women’s Championship on May 17
– The match was set up after their Bloodsport XIII confrontation during WrestleMania week
– WWE approved Natalya’s participation as part of her push to seek fresh opportunities
Natalya is stepping into new territory with her sights set on championship gold. The WWE star is officially set to challenge Kenzie Paige for the NWA World Women’s Championship at the Crockett Cup 2025 on Saturday, May 17.
The match will take place at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena and will be filmed for upcoming episodes of NWA Power. NWA President Billy Corgan confirmed the bout, highlighting the significance of a WWE Superstar like Natalya competing for the title. “Holding the event in this historic building with Natalya in an NWA title match shows how far we have come,” Corgan said.
The setup began at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII during WrestleMania week, where Natalya defeated Miyu Yamashita before a post-match brawl broke out with Paige. That moment cemented their collision course for the Crockett Cup.
Natalya called her experience at Bloodsport one of the highlights of her career, emphasizing her desire to keep pushing boundaries. “I just need more, I want more, and I’m creating more opportunities,” she told the No Holds Barred podcast. “I’m not waiting for them to happen.”
Despite recently signing a new WWE contract in 2024, Natalya received clearance to participate in both Bloodsport and the upcoming NWA title match.
Kenzie Paige has held the NWA World Women’s Championship since August 2023, after ending Kamille’s dominant reign. The May 17 event will also feature Thom Latimer defending the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title against Rhino and the annual Crockett Cup tag team tournament.
