NXT’s Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian fail to stay united before world title showdown
Summary
– Joe Hendry and Elijah defeat Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian in a wild tag team main event
– Hendry battles through a painful shoulder injury to carry momentum into Rebellion
– Ethan Page and Kazarian’s tensions boil over, costing them the match
The final TNA iMPACT! before Rebellion delivered a chaotic main event, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry teamed with Elijah to defeat his challengers Ethan Page and Frankie Kazarian.
Riding high after cashing in his Call Your Shot win for a world title shot, Kazarian struggled to find chemistry with Page. Despite early advantages and exploiting Hendry’s injured rotator cuff, miscommunication and selfishness unraveled the NXT-TNA duo.
Elijah and Hendry fought through the odds. Hendry, heavily taped and in visible pain, powered through big moves but relied on heart and instinct. When Kazarian refused to tag out, and Ethan Page abandoned teamwork, Elijah capitalized, landing Highwayman’s Farewell for the victory.
Now heading into Rebellion’s triple threat main event, Hendry is battered, Kazarian is frustrated, and Ethan Page smells opportunity. In a match with no countouts or disqualifications, the world title could change hands without Hendry being involved in the decision.
Belief might have gotten Joe Hendry to the top—but it will take everything he has left to stay there this Sunday.
