John Cena is back—and this time, he’s running the free world. Amazon Prime Video has officially dropped the first trailer for Heads of State. This action-comedy pairs Cena’s U.S. President with Idris Elba’s UK Prime Minister in a high-stakes, globe-spanning adventure.
The story centers around two rival world leaders forced into a chaotic alliance when a global threat targets both nations. Together, they must team up with Noel, an elite MI6 agent played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, to stop a dangerous conspiracy. Explosions, shootouts, and snarky banter follow as they race across international borders.
The trailer sets the tone with wild set pieces and over-the-top energy, embracing Cena’s comedic timing and Elba’s serious edge. The unlikely duo crashes through enemy lines and each other’s nerves, with Chopra Jonas delivering lethal support.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, known for the action hit Nobody, the film also stars Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Carla Gugino, Stephen Root, and Sarah Niles. With a July 2 release date, Heads of State looks locked and loaded for a summer streaming smash.
Between his record-breaking 17th world title win at WrestleMania 41, and this presidential power play, Cena is proving he runs the ring—and the screen.
