PS5 runs smooth at 60fps while PS5 Pro boosts image clarity
Summary
– PS5 version delivers stable 60fps with DualSense feedback
– PS5 Pro reaches up to 4K resolution for sharper visuals
– Shadow filtering flaws remain across all consoles
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has moved to PS5, and the results are impressive. The base PS5 delivers a consistent 60fps experience with ray traced global illumination and immersive DualSense support. Combat, stealth, and whip mechanics benefit from haptic feedback, enhancing gameplay without sacrificing performance.
Visual settings between PS5 and Xbox Series X are nearly identical, though Series X maintains a slight edge in rendering resolution thanks to hardware-based VRS. That advantage leads to sharper detail on average, though it comes with minor visual artifacts.
PS5 Pro takes the lead in clarity. With a dynamic resolution range scaling up to native 4K, it produces noticeably crisper detail in environments like jungles and detailed textures on clothing. It doesn’t use VRS but compensates with GPU strength to maintain image sharpness while holding steady at 60fps.
All three consoles share common drawbacks. Auto-save points trigger brief frame hitches, and in-engine cutscenes drop frames with every camera change. A standout moment involving a vehicle crash late in the game causes PS5 to dip into the 40s, with Series X handling the load more effectively and PS5 Pro landing in between.
Shadow filtering remains the weakest link across all platforms. Floor shadows shift visibly based on proximity, creating a distracting effect that has not been addressed since the game’s release.
Despite these flaws, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle runs well across PlayStation hardware. The PS5 version plays great, but the PS5 Pro delivers the sharpest experience of the bunch.
