AEW continues its global expansion with a major announcement: this year’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, August 24, at The O2 Arena in London, England.
The reveal came via AEW’s official Twitter account, with CEO Tony Khan sharing the news through BBC London News. Alongside the PPV reveal, AEW also confirmed it would debut in Scotland for the first time, with a double taping of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision set for Wednesday, August 20, at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.
This marks the first time Forbidden Door, a joint event with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, will be held in the UK. The O2 Arena, with its 20,000-seat capacity, is considered one of the most iconic venues in Europe and a strong choice for AEW’s expanding international presence.
Last year’s Forbidden Door was held in Long Island, New York, and featured some of the most memorable matches in AEW and NJPW’s shared history. With just months to go until its UK debut, anticipation is building quickly among fans on both sides of the ocean.
Forbidden Door has become a yearly highlight for AEW, offering crossover dream matches and showcasing international talent. Hosting the 2025 edition at The O2 is another clear signal that AEW is committed to growing its brand globally—and the UK crowd is expected to bring the energy to match.
