Streaming giant handles distribution, not storytelling or booking
Summary
– Triple H confirmed Netflix has no input on WWE creative or storylines
– Netflix controls scheduling but not characters, matches, or booking decisions
– WWE recently completed a European tour with RAW airing live from London
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has made it clear that Netflix’s partnership with the company is focused on distribution, not creative control. Speaking to the BBC, Levesque compared the relationship to how networks handle live sports.
“As far as the content of the shows… someone doesn’t tell the NFL how football’s played,” he said. “They distribute our product.”
Netflix has an influence over scheduling matters such as start time and runtime for RAW but does not dictate any of the storytelling, character development, or booking decisions. Levesque emphasized that those aspects remain strictly under WWE’s direction.
The latest episode of RAW was broadcast live from London, and WWE’s recent European tour, which included 12 events across nine countries, was closed. The episode opened with a segment between John Cena and Cody Rhodes and ended with a Women’s World Title match that concluded in a double disqualification.
WWE’s media rights deal with Netflix began in 2025, moving RAW from traditional cable to streaming. While the full archive isn’t yet available, Netflix offers selected past episodes alongside the live weekly broadcast.
