Julia Hart and Athena secure key win as tensions rise before Owen Hart Cup
Summary
– Julia Hart made Harley Cameron submit during AEW Collision’s main event
– Mercedes Moné chose not to break the hold, exiting the match
– Athena blocked Moné, preventing the save before the finish
On the April 5 episode of AEW Collision, Mercedes Moné, and Harley Cameron teamed up to face Julia Hart and ROH Women’s Champion Athena in a tag match just one night before the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament kicks off at Dynasty.
Cameron and Moné had early control, cutting off the ring and isolating Hart with quick tags and high-impact offense. Moné dished out punishment with her usual confidence, mocking Athena while keeping Hart grounded.
Once Hart escaped, Athena turned the tide. She unleashed power moves, including lifting both opponents simultaneously before hitting a forearm shot that nearly ended the match. Moné managed to save her team by breaking up a pinfall but rolled to the outside to recover.
The finish came as Julia Hart locked in a standing octopus hold on Cameron. Athena blocked Moné from interfering, forcing Moné to step back and leave her partner trapped. Cameron had no choice but to submit.
Hart and Athena stood tall while Moné watched from the ramp, unwilling to risk injury before Dynasty. The result gave momentum to the ROH Champion and Hart just before they entered singles competition in the Owen Hart Cup.
