Tension reached its peak during the Season 7 finale of The Walking Dead as Negan prepared to execute Carl in front of Rick brutally. With Lucille rising and Rick refusing to beg, all hope was lost.
Negan declared it was punishment, not a warning, before preparing to kill Carl with a single swing. Rick, bloodied and defiant, responded with a chilling promise to kill Negan and all the Saviors eventually.
Before Negan could finish the job, chaos erupted. Out of nowhere, Shiva, King Ezekiel’s tiger, lunged at the Saviors, mauling them and scattering their ranks.
Gunfire followed as the Kingdom and Hilltop forces stormed Alexandria. Ezekiel, shouting commands atop his horse, led the charge, declaring Alexandria would not fall.
The arrival of Maggie and the others turned the battle into a full-scale rebellion. As the Saviors retreated under fire, Rick and Carl regrouped. The Alexandrians and their allies had survived the day—thanks partly to one fearless tiger.
