Owens and Zayn Leave It All in the Ring Before Randy Orton Returns
Summary
– Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn in a violent unsanctioned match
– Weapons, tables, and barbed wire added to the chaos in Toronto
– Randy Orton returned to confront Owens, setting up a new rivalry
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn took their years-long rivalry to new heights at WWE Elimination Chamber, delivering an unsanctioned war in front of a sold-out Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Denied official approval from WWE officials, the match allowed for no rules, restrictions, or limits. Owens and Zayn wasted no time introducing weapons, with steel chairs, hockey sticks, and tables coming into play. The fight spilled into the crowd, where Zayn put Owens through two tables before Owens regained control, using the ring bell and a trash can lid to brutalize his former friend.
The carnage escalated when Zayn introduced a barbed-wire-wrapped chair, drilling Owens before planting him with a Blue Thunder Bomb through a bridge of steel chairs. But Owens proved relentless, hitting two devastating powerbombs on the ring apron before finishing Zayn with a pinfall inside the ring.
After the match, Owens wasn’t finished. He ripped up the protective ringside mat, seemingly preparing to inflict more damage. That’s when Randy Orton made his shocking return, storming the ring to confront Owens. The Viper, who had been out of action since Owens took him out with a Packaged Piledriver, wasted no time delivering an RKO. Security intervened as Orton prepared to punt Owens’ skull, but he cleared the ring with a series of RKOs.
With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, Owens may have put Zayn behind him, but a new threat has emerged. The Viper is back, and his sights are locked on Kevin Owens.
