Carlito has no interest in taking his talents elsewhere—when the time comes, he wants to retire in WWE. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the former United States Champion made it clear that loyalty is important and that he plans to finish his career where it all started.
“I have a thing with loyalty. I’ve only ever been a WWE guy, I always kind of liked it, being a one-company guy,” Carlito said. “As long as they’ll have me, I think I’ll always try to stay loyal to WWE as long as I could. And honestly, I’d like to end my career with them.”
While he hasn’t planned exactly how he wants his final match to go, he floated a humorous idea for a unique sendoff.
“You know, I haven’t thought that far ahead. You know what it’d probably be? It’d be a hair match, like hair vs. something, hair vs. mustache against Dominik [Mysterio]. Yeah, and then maybe I’ll get my head shaved and ride off into the sunset.”
Carlito’s WWE journey has already seen him defeat John Cena in his debut, share the ring with legends like Roddy Piper and Steve Austin at WrestleMania 21, and make a surprise return in 2021 before officially rejoining WWE full-time in 2023. Now, he’s focused on what’s next—but when it’s time to step away, he’s staying in WWE.
