The former NXT star discusses her 90-day non-compete and upcoming return to the ring
Summary
– Indi Hartwell took her 90-day non-compete as an opportunity to plan her next steps and regain confidence
– She believes independence gives her full control over her career, inspired by Matt Cardona’s approach
– Hartwell is set to make her in-ring return at We Are Renegades on March 9
Indi Hartwell is officially a free agent after being released by WWE in October 2024. During her 90-day non-compete period, she focused on rebuilding her confidence and preparing for her next move in wrestling.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Hartwell opened up about the emotional process of adjusting after her release. While some wrestlers see the 90-day waiting period as frustrating, she viewed it as a necessary break.
“It’s a lot of emotion, and if you’ve been through getting released before, you go through all the emotions. I know some people feel differently about the 90 days, but I feel it was good to have because when you lose your job, you can’t just think of something straight away. You need that time to go through everything,” Hartwell said.
She explained that she used the time to reflect, seek advice, and plan her next steps. One thing that stood out to her was a tweet from Matt Cardona, who has successfully navigated life after WWE.
“He tweeted about being independent meaning that everything is in your control, whether that is success or failure. I’m excited to be in control of things now,” she added.
Hartwell wastes no time getting back into action, as she is set to compete at We Are Renegades on March 9. With a fresh outlook and complete control over her next moves, she is ready to embrace this new chapter in her career.
