Former NXT UK Star Looks Ahead After SmackDown Run Ends
Summary
– Isla Dawn announced her WWE departure on Instagram Stories
– She referenced WWE’s standard 90-day non-compete clause
– Dawn’s tag team success in NXT never carried over to the main roster
Isla Dawn is officially out of WWE. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion confirmed the news on Instagram, posting a brief but telling message: “Here for a good time, not a long time,” before adding, “See you in 90,” referencing WWE’s non-compete clause.
Dawn rose to prominence in NXT UK before transitioning to NXT, forming a dominant tag team with Alba Fyre. The duo won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships and were later called up to SmackDown in 2023. However, their momentum faded after WWE unified and retired the titles, leaving them without a clear direction.
Her exit adds to WWE’s latest wave of roster cuts, which has already included Akam & Rezar, Paul Ellering, Cedric Alexander, Sonya Deville, and Blair Davenport. With speculation that more releases could follow, WWE’s internal roster remains in flux.
As for Dawn’s future, she’ll have plenty of options once her 90-day clause expires. With experience in WWE’s UK and NXT brands, she could find a home in AEW, TNA, NJPW, or a return to the UK wrestling scene.
