WWE Star Reflects on Singles Run While Fenix Reportedly Wants Out of AEW
Summary
– Penta has thrived as a singles competitor since his WWE debut on January 13
– He explained how his in-ring style differs between solo and tag team wrestling
– Reports suggest Rey Fenix is frustrated with AEW and exploring ways to leave
Penta has wasted no time making his mark in WWE since debuting on Monday Night Raw on January 13. While some fans hoped to see him team up with his brother Rey Fenix, Penta has been shining as a singles competitor.
In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Penta addressed working without Fenix and how his in-ring style has evolved. He described his solo approach as more aggressive and technical, while his tag work with Fenix leans toward a high-flying, dynamic style.
“I feel very comfortable because, as just myself, I’m more aggressive in the ring—you know, more violent, more Shakespearean, more of a different style from around the world. But when my brother is with me in a tag team, it’s different—more dynamic, more special, more high-flying. That’s the difference. But I feel comfortable in both styles.”
Meanwhile, speculation continues surrounding Rey Fenix’s AEW status. Reports indicate that AEW added injury time to his contract, preventing him from leaving, and there are claims he may be looking for a way out. Dave Meltzer noted that WWE and AEW contracts have similar clauses that allow time extensions for missed action, further complicating his situation.
Despite Penta’s singles success, many fans still hope to see a reunion with Fenix in WWE. Their chemistry and innovative tag team offense made them one of the most exciting duos in wrestling, and if Fenix finds a way to join WWE, the possibilities are endless.
