The WWE Hall of Famer explains why he keeps stepping back into the ring

Summary

– Booker T says training students keeps pulling him back into the ring

– He is considering another match at Reality of Wrestling in a 10-man tag

– His last singles match was at Battle to the Bell against Zilla Fatu

Booker T has done it all in professional wrestling, but even at 59, he isn’t completely done with competing. While his focus has shifted to training the next generation, the WWE Hall of Famer still occasionally finds himself stepping back inside the ring.

Speaking on the Mighty podcast, Booker T admitted that his students at Reality of Wrestling are a big reason he occasionally wrestles, as he feels the need to demonstrate techniques firsthand. He described it as an instinct he can’t shake.

“I try to stay out of the ring as much as I can, but training my students pulls me back in. I have to show them how to do it—it’s just something inside you. I find myself getting back in the ring.”

Beyond training, Booker T is thinking about another match at his Reality of Wrestling promotion. If it happens, he wants to compete with his students in a 10-man tag match to limit the physical toll.

“I’m even thinking about having another match at Reality of Wrestling with some of my students. I said it’s got to be a 10-man tag or something like that.”

His most recent match took place at Battle to the Bell, where he defeated Zilla Fatu in a Street Justice Rules Gauntlet match. It was his first singles match in five years. With fans still eager to see him compete, it remains to be seen if Booker T will step back into the ring again this year.
