Norman Reedus, known for his iconic role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, continues to expand his horizons with exciting new projects. While fans eagerly await the third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon in 2025, they can catch him next in Ballerina, a spinoff set in the world of John Wick.
Reedus joins an impressive cast in Ballerina, including Ana De Armas as Ava and franchise veterans Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, and Anjelica Huston. Directed by Len Wiseman, the movie is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.
In an interview with Collider, Reedus reflected on the differences between choreographed fight sequences in Ballerina and the raw, unpolished action of The Walking Dead. “It’s a different fighting style, totally. The Walking Dead’s very sloppy; this is very choreographed and a lot of people put it together to make it safe and look spectacular,” he explained.
Reedus also credited his motorcycle riding experience for helping him with the intense action sequences, describing moments in Ballerina as fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled. “There’s a lot of sharp stuff I don’t want to put my hands on, steps being removed underneath my feet. There’s a lot of bang, bang, bang, bang,” he shared.
Beyond Ballerina, Reedus has an exciting slate of projects. He recently appeared in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders and will reprise his role as Murphy MacManus in The Boondock Saints 3. Additionally, he stars in the psychological drama The Housewife, which is based on a true story.
Fans of both The Walking Dead and John Wick can look forward to seeing Reedus bring his unique charisma and action skills to the big screen when Ballerina debuts in theaters on June 6, 2025.
