TNA Wrestling Secures Sportsnet Deal in Canada for 2025

TNA announces major TV partnership with Sportsnet 360, set to air flagship programming starting January

Summary

– TNA Impact moves to Sportsnet 360 in Canada, airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. Eastern time

– WWE’s transition to Netflix opened doors for other promotions, enabling TNA’s expansion

– Episodes of TNA Impact to stream on TNA+ in Canada with a two-week delay

TNA Wrestling has confirmed its programming will debut on Sportsnet 360 in Canada starting January 2, 2025. This partnership will showcase TNA Impact in a prime Thursday evening slot, along with TNA Xplosion, TNA in 60, and TNA Classics joining the lineup in the new year.

Anthony Cicione, TNA Wrestling’s president, called the move a major step forward, highlighting Sportsnet as a leading sports outlet in Canada. This deal marks a significant opportunity for TNA following WWE’s move to Netflix, which left Sportsnet open to new wrestling content.

Episodes of TNA Impact will air on Sportsnet 360 and later stream for TNA+ subscribers in Canada with a two-week delay. The Fight Network will also broadcast Impact episodes, albeit 13 days after their initial Sportsnet airing. Other TNA programming remains unaffected by these scheduling changes.

AEW also pursued discussions with Sportsnet, but TNA ultimately secured the deal, likely aided by Canadian content regulations and TNA’s Anthem Sports & Entertainment being Toronto-based. Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer emphasized this as a key factor and noted that WWE’s shift to Netflix creates opportunities for other promotions to strike similar international deals.

“This is the biggest TV station TNA has had in North America since losing Spike,” Meltzer remarked, underscoring the significance of this partnership.
