Before claiming the WWE Women’s World Championship by defeating Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring, Liv Morgan endured a challenging road filled with near-misses. Morgan addressed her back-to-back runner-up finishes during an interview with WWE Deutschland, expressing her belief that she would win the 2025 Royal Rumble if not currently holding the championship.
“If I for some reason am not holding the championship anymore… I was the runner-up two years in a row,” Morgan said. “If I wasn’t champion this year, I’d probably win this year. So that’s just another opportunity for someone else because if I was not holding this Women’s World Championship, I would have won the Royal Rumble. I’m just your gracious, classy queen giving someone else an opportunity to win.”
Morgan’s focus now turns to her upcoming title defense against IYO SKY at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. SKY earned her shot by winning a #1 Contendership Battle Royal last month, outlasting stars like Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Lyra Valkyria.
