AEW Expands Reach with Live Streaming on Max from 2025

Summary

– AEW signs a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, valued at over $150 million annually.

– AEW programming will stream on Max starting January 2025, offering on-demand access for U.S. subscribers.

– Rampage is not included in the deal, sparking speculation about future content shifts.

AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery have secured a multi-year media rights deal set to elevate the wrestling company to new heights. As confirmed by Variety, this deal solidifies AEW’s presence on both TBS and TNT, continuing the successful partnership that has grown over the years.

While specific financials weren’t publicly revealed, insiders suggest the deal is valued at over $150 million annually. This agreement includes AEW’s major shows, Dynamite and Collision, keeping them on their current channels. The exciting addition here is the streaming aspect. Starting in January 2025, AEW content will stream live on Max for U.S. subscribers, with on-demand options. This move adds a new dimension to AEW’s content distribution strategy, expanding its reach beyond traditional TV.

Tony Khan, AEW’s founder, was thrilled about this new chapter. He acknowledged the continued support from Warner Bros. Discovery and the opportunity to bring AEW’s unique wrestling brand to even more fans. “This extension continues the tradition of iconic wrestling events broadcast on TBS and TNT, while also establishing a new legacy for AEW through weekly live streams on Max for years to come,” Khan stated, expressing his gratitude towards the AEW fans, talent and staff for making this deal possible.

However, it’s notable that Rampage is separate from this new agreement, raising questions about AEW’s content plans. This absence could signal future changes or a potential rebranding. On top of this, AEW is gearing up to launch a new show on FOX titled Shockwave, further diversifying its programming and reinforcing its position in the wrestling industry.

As AEW marks the 5-Year Dynamite anniversary show in Pittsburgh, this deal is perfect, confirming the company’s status as a major player and giving fans even more ways to experience their favorite matches and storylines.
