Regal Reveals His Current Involvement with NXT and Praises Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Matt Bloom for Their Contributions

Summary

– William Regal, a former WWE superstar and longtime NXT General Manager, reveals his ongoing but reduced involvement with NXT.

– Regal reflected on NXT’s evolution as the brand prepares for its premiere on the CW Network on October 1.

– He credited Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Matt Bloom for their hard work in turning NXT into a major WWE brand, calling it the best part of his 41-year career.

William Regal, widely regarded as one of the most accomplished English WWE superstars, has played a crucial role in developing WWE NXT, both as an on-screen General Manager and behind the scenes. After his in-ring career ended, Regal transitioned into various backstage roles, including WWE’s Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting.

In 2022, Regal left WWE briefly for AEW but returned nine months later to take the Vice President of Global Talent Development role. As NXT prepares for its big move to the CW Network, Regal reflected on his time with the brand and revealed his current level of involvement.

In a recent post on X, Regal shared that while he still has some involvement in NXT, his role is less significant than it once was. He praised the hard work of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Matt Bloom for taking NXT from a one-hour program to a global phenomenon, crediting them with changing the wrestling world.

“I was part of the very beginning of @WWE’s @NXT. I’m still involved but not as much as I was. Thank you to H, Shaun, Matt, and everyone else that fought the fight of making a one-hour program on The WWE Network into a traveling show making new stars. It’s been the best part of a 41-year career being @WWENXT to the core,” Regal tweeted.

With NXT set to debut on the CW Network on October 1, it marks the start of a new era, one built on the foundation laid by Regal and others who have worked tirelessly to make the brand what it is today.
