After a brief break from WWE, Natalya, one of the most enduring figures in the women’s division, made her much-anticipated return on the September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW. Teaming up with Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria, Natalya helped secure a victory against Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler, delighting fans in Alberta with her surprise comeback.
During her hiatus, Natalya revealed she had undergone eye surgery to correct a condition she had since birth. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared that she had been living with astigmatism in her left eye, which left her nearly blind on that side. After years of struggling with ineffective contacts, a recommendation from WWE colleague Titus O’Neil led her to Dr. Newsome at News Omeye, where she received life-changing treatment.
“Thank you so much Dr Newsome at @newsomeye for fixing my eyes! I’ve never felt better because the world is crystal clear- literally! I was born with an astigmatism in my left eye, leaving me with one very weak eye, almost blind. My right eye did all the work for me. For years I’ve tried to fix my left eye, as it was basically useless, and I was always told ‘just wear a contact in it.’ The contacts would irritate my eye so much and I would have such a hard time putting them in and removing them every day. And they didn’t help. I pretty much gave up until a friend of mine told me to check out @newsomeye. (Thank you @titusoneilwwe 🙏),” Natalya wrote.
The procedures included an EVOS lens implant in her left eye to fix the astigmatism, along with PRK surgery in her right eye to balance her vision. The result? 20/20 vision in both eyes for the first time in her life.
“Finally, there was a procedure/technology that has given me 20/20 vision in both my eyes. Newsome also tuned up my good eye and made it even stronger. When I tell you I see the world differently now, I really mean it. It changed my life in the best way. I had an EVOS lens implant in my left eye to correct the astigmatism. And I had a PRK surgery in my right eye to get it balanced perfectly with my left eye.”
Natalya expressed her gratitude for the medical team and the support she received from WWE, including Paul “Triple H” Levesque, during her recovery. Now, with her vision restored, she is ready to make her mark once again in WWE, confident and eager to continue her legacy.
