Billy Gunn, a WWE Hall of Famer and integral member of D-Generation X, recently expressed disappointment at being unable to attend the group’s 25th anniversary reunion on WWE Raw on October 10, 2022. While the iconic faction celebrated the milestone, Gunn was notably absent due to his commitments with AEW.
In a candid interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Gunn explained that miscommunication and his AEW obligations led to his absence. Although he understood the necessity of prioritizing his current role with AEW, Gunn admitted feeling upset about missing the chance to reconnect with his former DX teammates, including Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Sean Waltman, and Road Dogg.
“Yeah, it was just a miscommunication,” Gunn explained. “I work for a completely different company now. If it works out, great. If not, I can’t be mad. But of course, I wanted to be there with my old friends and relive those moments. However, my loyalty lies with AEW, and I had to respect that.”
Despite the missed opportunity, Gunn remains optimistic about potentially reuniting with DX. He continues to focus on his successful career in AEW, where he remains a significant figure.
