Tony Khan, President of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has emphasized that re-signing Bryan Danielson is a top priority as the wrestling star’s contract approaches its expiration this August. In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Khan discussed the timeframe of Danielson’s contract and expressed his optimism about retaining him.
“I would like Bryan to stay, in a perfect world, forever here in whatever capacity he’d stay with us in. I’d hope that Bryan would finish his wrestling career here. I would do anything to make that happen,” Khan stated, highlighting his commitment to keeping Danielson with AEW.
Although Danielson has previously mentioned that this year will be his final one as a full-time in-ring talent, Khan hopes that Danielson will continue to be a part of AEW in some capacity beyond his active wrestling career.
“I don’t know whether he’ll be wrestling full-time after that, but I really hope Bryan will stay with me here in the office forever. I talk to Bryan pretty much every day whenever I can, so I hope that will continue for the rest of our lives,” Khan added.
Since his debut with AEW at September 2021’s All Out, the 43-year-old Danielson has been a significant addition to the roster. He is scheduled to team up with FTR and Darby Allin at this Sunday’s Double or Nothing event, where they will face The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena match.
The potential re-signing of Bryan Danielson would be a major win for AEW, ensuring that one of the industry’s top talents remains a central figure in the promotion.
