AEW Collision Ratings Climb Despite Tough Competition from UFC 300

AEW Collision Sees Viewer Increase but Faces a Dip in Key Demographic Rating

Summary

– AEW Collision’s viewership rose to 468,000, marking its best performance since early February and the second highest in 2024.

– Despite the overall viewer increase, Collision’s 18-49 demographic rating dropped from 0.15 to 0.13, down 13.3 percent from the previous week.

– The episode faced stiff competition from UFC 300 prelims on ESPN, which overshadowed Collision in the 18-49 demographic and exceeded ratings of any Raw or SmackDown this year.

Saturday night’s AEW Collision experienced a notable increase in viewership, achieving an average of 468,000 viewers on TNT. This figure represents a 1.1 percent rise from the previous episode, which aired later due to NCAA March Madness. The substantial viewership numbers marked the show’s best performance since February 10, positioning it as the second-most viewed episode in 2024.

However, while overall viewership was up, Collision saw a decline in its crucial 18-49 demographic, where it scored a 0.13 rating. This was a 13.3 percent decrease from the previous week’s 0.15 rating, indicating a slight setback in capturing the key younger audience.

Collision’s broadcast went head-to-head with the UFC 300 prelims on ESPN, which drew significantly higher attention in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.86 rating and 1.864 million viewers overall. This performance by UFC 300’s prelims was notably robust, surpassing the demographic ratings achieved by any Raw or SmackDown episode this year. However, it fell short in total viewership compared to Collision.

Battle of the Belts X, which aired immediately after Collision on TNT, also experienced a drop in viewership and demographic performance, averaging 422,000 viewers and a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
