Lexis King, formerly known as Brian Pillman Jr. in AEW, found himself on a new journey in the wrestling world. As one-half of the Varsity Blondes in AEW, he had a memorable run, but things changed when he parted ways with Tony Khan’s promotion. However, his passion for the industry remained unwavering.

Now, competing under the name Lexis King in NXT, he is determined to make his mark on the roster. His debut in WWE’s developmental brand generated significant buzz and excitement. It’s worth noting that Triple H highly valued his presence in NXT.

In a recent conversation with Chris Van Vliet on “Insight,” Lexis King reflected on the swift transition from AEW to WWE. His AEW contract had expired, and the deal with WWE came together so quickly that he received paychecks from both wrestling giants in the same month.

“It wasn’t so much a decision as it was a necessary transition. I think my time came up in AEW. It was a great run, a great deal financially, I did very well there. It was that doubt about the future about whether they were going to use me and they were going to use me. It became apparent when they didn’t re-sign me. So, god bless the agents who picked up the phone on the day my contract ran up, and they got me signed.”

Lexis King’s journey in NXT is marked by his determination to impact significantly. With his undeniable charisma and growing spotlight, he’s becoming a notable figure in WWE’s developmental territory. Although Tony Khan stopped booking him and chose not to renew his contract, WWE embraced King to facilitate his transition.
