Mace, a member of the faction known as Retribution, recently opened up about the group’s journey in WWE. Retribution, introduced in August 2020, aimed to disrupt WWE but was disbanded before Fastlane 2021 without leaving a lasting mark. Mace, in a Reddit Q&A, shared his thoughts on the faction’s trajectory and the challenges they faced.

Retribution’s entire run coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning there were no live audiences to witness their actions. Mace believes that the absence of a crowd played a role in the faction’s limited success. He mentioned that there were plans to give the members unique entrances and masks, but they ended up with Bane-like masks instead.

Despite being filled with talented individuals like Mace, T-Bar, Mia Yim (Reckoning), and Mustafa Ali, the faction needed more momentum. Mace and T-Bar even pitched ideas to transform their characters into bullies after the faction’s disbandment, showing their commitment to making the storyline work.

Mace’s reflections provide a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes efforts and challenges faced by wrestlers and how external factors, like the absence of a live audience, can influence a storyline’s success.
