AEW’s Tony Khan Faces Scrutiny Over Recent Social Media Activity
Tony Khan, the face behind All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has been making headlines recently, not for his wrestling promotions but for his fiery social media outbursts. While some within AEW wish Khan would take a break from his online rants, it seems he has no intention of doing so.
Among the many statements Khan has made, he notably referred to WWE executives as “bald assholes” and criticized Shawn Michaels’ booking for NXT. He didn’t stop there. Khan also commented on Vince McMahon’s controversies and took jabs at wrestling legends The Undertaker and John Cena for not achieving 1 million viewers for the October 10th NXT episode.
In a more personal attack, Khan accused WWE of contract tampering and claimed that “WWE avatar accounts” targeted his mother during her recovery from a near-death experience.
Wrestling superstar Chris Jericho recently shared his thoughts on Khan’s social media behavior in an interview with The Messenger. Jericho emphasized that billionaires, like Khan, play by their own rules and are not easily influenced by others. He stated, “I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires… you can’t control Tony Khan. He’s going to do what he wants to do and God bless him.”
Jericho added that while he wouldn’t advise Khan to put down his phone, he wouldn’t dare to tell him what to do, saying, “Tony Khan owns AEW. He can do what he wants. I’m not going to tell him no.”
There’s also speculation that some AEW talents might be taking advantage of Khan’s nature. As the story unfolds, more details are likely to emerge.
Khan’s actions and statements impact AEW and reflect on his other ventures, like the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Khan’s passion for his company is evident, a break from social media might be beneficial for him.
