Analysts Weigh In on the Highly Awaited Launch Date of Grand Theft Auto 6
The gaming community has been buzzing with anticipation regarding the release of “Grand Theft Auto 6” (GTA 6), and recent developments might have shed some light on the potential launch window. Last year, a leak from a user named teapotuberhacker showcased some development videos, leading Rockstar Games to confirm that GTA 6 was indeed in development. However, the exact release date remained a mystery.
Now, analysts from Raymond James have provided some insights into the matter. According to their report, they have an improved outlook on Take-Two Interactive’s stock, the parent company of Rockstar Games. Their optimism for the years 2025 and beyond suggests that GTA 6 might see a release in 2025. This aligns with the speculation that Take-Two will announce the game’s release date following its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024.
This isn’t the first time the gaming community has speculated about the release date. During an investor call last year, rumors hinted at a potential GTA 6 reveal on May 17, but that didn’t materialize. Tom Henderson, known for his accurate leaks about the “Call of Duty” series, suggested that GTA 6 might launch in 2024 or 2025. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier echoed these sentiments.
Adding to the intrigue, a leaked voice recording of Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, hinted at October 24, 2024, as a potential release date for GTA 6. However, this post has since been removed.
The upcoming GTA 6 might also introduce some firsts for the series. Reports suggest the game might feature two main characters, reminiscent of the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. These characters were allegedly seen in a diner heist scene named Jason and Lucia. If true, Lucia would mark the first female lead character in the GTA series. Additionally, after the success of GTA San Andreas and GTA 5 in Los Santos, GTA 6 might take players back to Vice City, Rockstar’s rendition of Miami.
