The Iconic Two-Ring Battle Returns to the Main Roster
The wrestling community is abuzz with anticipation as reports suggest that the iconic WarGames match might make its return at WWE Survivor Series. Slated for November 25 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, this could mark the second appearance of WarGames on the main roster, following its debut at last year’s Survivor Series in Boston.
According to sources from Fightful Select, discussions are currently centered around a men’s WarGames match. The Judgment Day faction, which has been gaining traction recently, is rumored to be a potential participant in this multi-man steel cage showdown. However, it’s essential to note that these plans are still in the preliminary stages.
The WarGames match, a brainchild of “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, has a rich history in the wrestling world. Rhodes, who also happens to be the father of WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes, introduced this stipulation during his tenure as the head booker of Jim Crockett Promotions. Over the years, WarGames has transitioned from a summer staple during the Great American Bash tours in the ’80s to a September fixture in WCW during the ’90s. In its WWE iteration, particularly under the guidance of WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WarGames has found its home in November, often headlining its namesake event.
