Footage reveals the events leading up to Riddle’s confrontation with Port Authority Police at JFK Airport.
In a recent development, TMZ has released footage from Matt Riddle’s controversial incident at JFK Airport in New York City. The video captures Riddle, apparently after consuming a few drinks due to a flight delay, grabbing a microphone at an airport front desk. Witnesses described Riddle as “incredibly obnoxious” during the delay, escalating his behavior to the point of him loudly questioning when the plane would depart. In the footage, Riddle, drink in hand, cheerfully asks fellow passengers if any of them are qualified to fly the plane. While his tone appeared playful, airport staff were swift to intervene.
Although passengers eventually boarded the plane, Riddle was denied entry, presumably due to his inebriated state. This led to him expressing his frustration, questioning if he would be able to return home that day. The TMZ footage does not cover the subsequent interaction between Riddle and the Port Authority Police. This interaction became a focal point after Riddle claimed, in a since-deleted Instagram post, that an officer sexually assaulted him during the incident. No formal police report was filed regarding this allegation, and Riddle was neither detained nor arrested.
The incident, which took place on September 9, was followed by Riddle’s release from WWE on September 22 amidst a series of roster cuts after Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE.
