The Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Finds Solace with CJ Perry
Liv Morgan, a prominent figure in the WWE universe, has taken a hiatus from the company. During this break, she has been residing with AEW star CJ Perry, previously recognized as Lana in WWE. Morgan’s hiatus followed after she and Raquel Rodriguez lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. This loss occurred on the July 17th edition of WWE Raw, marking their first title defense since winning the titles from Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.
Rhea Ripley, the Women’s World Champion, played a pivotal role in the title loss. Known as ‘The Eradicator’, Ripley ambushed the champions backstage, leaving them vulnerable for their title defense. Following this, Ripley successfully defended her title against Raquel Rodriguez at WWE Payback and again on the September 11th Raw episode.
Morgan recently shared on her Instagram story about her stay with CJ Perry in Los Angeles. Perry made her AEW debut after Miro’s victory over Powerhouse Hobbs at the ‘All Out’ event on September 3rd.
In a touching gesture, during her title match at Payback, Rodriguez paid homage to Morgan by having the word ‘Liv’ inscribed on her wrist tape. Morgan acknowledged this tribute on social media, showcasing their bond.
Having experienced a stellar year in 2022, including a Money in the Bank ladder match victory and a successful cash-in against Ronda Rousey, fans eagerly await Morgan’s return to the ring. The future holds much promise for the 29-year-old superstar.
