A New Chapter for Joey Gacy and Ava: The Dyad’s Exit Leaves Questions Unanswe
The wrestling universe is always in flux, and WWE is no exception. Recent shifts in the corporate landscape have led to significant changes, not just in the boardroom but also in the ring. While Frank Riddick’s exit made headlines, two notable Superstars have also taken their final bow.
A recent WWE NXT segment featured Joey Gacy and Ava in a rather intriguing setup. The two were seen placing their hands on a tree, symbolizing unity and connection. Notably absent were The Dyad, leaving fans curious about their whereabouts.
During his segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shed light on the situation. He confirmed that The Dyad, comprising Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid, have left the company. Their contracts reached their end, and instead of a dramatic exit storyline, they faded away. Meltzer remarked, “I thought there was gonna be some kind of angle or something, but they’re gone.”
This departure wasn’t entirely unexpected. The Grizzled Young Veterans had previously expressed their intention to leave WWE once their contracts expired. In fact, they had sought an early release a few months prior, but their request was turned down.
With The Dyad’s exit, the spotlight now firmly rests on Joey Gacy and Ava. This could be a blessing in disguise. Before joining WWE NXT, Gacy and Ava had conceptualized a cult-themed gimmick. With the current trajectory, they might get the chance to bring that vision to life.
