Unmasking the Figures: A Deep Dive into AEW All In’s Wembley Stadium Turnout

In a move to bring transparency to the wrestling world, the actual attendance figures for AEW’s All In event at London’s Wembley Stadium have been made public. This revelation comes courtesy of a Freedom of Information public records request.

The Brent Council, the local authority for the borough situated in greater London, responded to the request, shedding light on the turnstile count for the event. According to their records, the number of actual ticketed fans present at the venue that evening was 72,265.

However, AEW had announced a total paid attendance of 81,035. The distinction between the actual turnstile count and the number of paid versus comped tickets remains unclear, as this specific breakdown wasn’t provided. It’s worth noting that AEW’s figures have traditionally only encompassed paid tickets, excluding comped tickets or other categories.

Typically, announced attendance figures for major events, be it sports or concerts, represent the total tickets distributed. This includes both paid and comped tickets, as turnstile numbers are rarely disclosed to the public.

Brandon Thurston’s report on Wrestlenomics provided further insights:

> “Wrestlenomics was told by a source that a typical AEW event has a drop count (also known as a “turnstile count”) that is about 80% to 90% of the paid attendance or tickets distributed. In this case, 72,265 is 89% of 83,131.”

By this calculation, it’s estimated that around 2,000 non-paid tickets were distributed in addition to the announced paid number.

This revelation adds a new dimension to ongoing debates about the most-attended wrestling events in history. For context, Thurston highlighted that WWE’s WrestleMania 32 in 2016 had a turnstile count of 80,709, as reported by the Arlington, Texas, police department. In contrast, WWE had announced a figure of 101,763 for the event.
