As WWE and UFC Unite, CM Punk’s Return to WWE Remains a Mystery

The end of CM Punk’s tenure with AEW has left fans speculating about his next move. The burning question on everyone’s lips: Will the Second City Savior grace the WWE ring once more? Current signs suggest that might not be the case.

The monumental merger of WWE and UFC under the TKO Holdings Group banner has shaken the sports entertainment world. While CM Punk’s inclusion could undoubtedly ignite fan interest, does the already flourishing WWE need the added spark?

In a recent conversation, Marc Raimondi engaged with WWE President Nick Khan and UFC COO Lawrence Epstein. The topic of WWE’s potential interest in signing CM Punk inevitably arose. Khan’s response was clear and respectful, emphasizing their admiration for Punk’s contributions both in WWE and his brave stint in UFC. He stated, “We hold immense respect for Phil. His journey with us and his venture into UFC are commendable. Our best wishes are always with him.”

With the merger, there’s chatter about WWE and UFC collaborating on event pitches for cities, given the financial prowess both entities command. However, WWE’s robust financial standing, especially with ongoing television negotiations, suggests they continue to operate distinctively in certain business aspects.

While the wrestling world eagerly watches CM Punk’s next move, other promotions like Impact Wrestling show interest. There’s even buzz about a potential appearance in NWA, challenging for their World Title.

As the TKO Holdings Group gears up for a grand launch, both WWE and UFC are poised for significant financial growth. Amidst these developments, Triple H retains his role as WWE’s Chief Content Officer, and it’s anticipated that WWE and UFC will maintain separate media deals.
