Riddle Accuses Port Authority Officer of Assault; WWE and Port Authority Launch Investigations
WWE superstar Matt Riddle found himself at the center of controversy following an incident at JFK airport over the weekend. Riddle accused a Port Authority officer of sexual assault during the incident. However, reports from TMZ suggest that officers at the scene described Riddle as “heavily intoxicated,” and he was allegedly “causing a scene” and “acting disruptive” while transferring flights.
In light of these events, both WWE and the Port Authority have initiated investigations to delve deeper into the matter.
PWInsider has reported that Riddle will not be present in Norfolk, VA for the upcoming episode of Raw at the Scope Arena. Furthermore, despite being previously scheduled, Riddle is also not expected to participate in the WWE live events slated for this weekend in Idaho and Washington.
Riddle has recently been paired with Drew McIntyre on the wrestling front on Raw. The duo, although an unlikely pairing with McIntyre showing reluctance, has faced off against teams like The Viking Raiders and New Day since the August 14 show.
This recent airport incident adds to Riddle’s tumultuous past few months. Just five months ago, Riddle made a comeback to WWE after a stint in rehab. He had been absent from the WWE scene from December 2022 and only returned post-WrestleMania.
