Sony’s PlayStation has unveiled its latest innovation, the PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player, set to revolutionize the way gamers interact with their PS5® consoles. The announcement was made through a captivating trailer that promises a handheld gateway to your favorite PS5® games.
Launching on November 15, 2023, the PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player allows gamers to play their PS5® console over their home Wi-Fi, delivering console-quality controls right in the palm of their hands. One of the standout features is the ability to experience the incredible immersion of the DualSense® wireless controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in supported games.
However, it’s essential to note that the PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player requires a broadband internet Wi-Fi connection of at least 5Mbps for use. For an optimal play experience, a high-speed connection of at least 15Mbps is recommended. The device is designed to stream compatible games installed on your PS5 console, with the quality and connectivity of the play experience varying based on the network environment.
Pre-orders for the PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player will be available at direct.playstation.com for select countries, including the UK, US, France, Germany, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Austria. From September 29, 2023, pre-orders will also open for other select retailers in these countries, as well as Canada and Japan.
