Celebrating Three Years as WWE Universal Champion

Few have showcased dominance quite like Roman Reigns. As of today, ‘The Big Dog’ celebrates an unparalleled three-year tenure as the WWE Universal Champion, a testament to his prowess and charisma inside the squared circle.

This monumental journey began on August 30, 2020, at WWE Payback. Reigns, showcasing his signature resilience, he overcame the odds by defeating Braun Strowman and the then-champion, Bray Wyatt. Since that fateful night, Reigns has been an unstoppable force, defending his title against a veritable who’s who of WWE’s elite. From Jey Uso to Brock Lesnar, from John Cena to Seth Rollins, Reigns has faced them all, emerging victorious in 29 title defenses.

Such a feat places Reigns in an illustrious league, rubbing shoulders with legends like Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and Bob Backlund in terms of championship longevity. Beyond the Universal Championship, Reigns further stamped his authority by capturing the WWE Championship on April 3, 2022, holding it firmly for over 500 days.

Speaking to The New York Post, Reigns reflected on his illustrious journey, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the WWE Universe. “My goal,” he stated, “is to entertain, satisfy, and leave the fans ‘Stratus-fied’.”
