Akam and Rezar’s Stealthy Signing and the Buzz Around Their NXT Comeback

WWE’s landscape is ever-evolving, and they’ve pulled off a covert move by secretly signing two of their former superstars, Akam and Rezar, collectively known as AOP (Authors of Pain). The duo, who last saw in the WWE ring in their release in 2020, have been under the radar, avoiding indie bookings and maintaining their partnership.

Sean Sapp from Fightful unveiled that WWE discreetly signed AOP last year. However, they’ve been on the sidelines, with no appearances since their signing. Interestingly, this signing occurred before Vince McMahon’s return, a period that saw a freeze on most new signings.

AOP’s name popped up on an internal travel list in May, hinting at their imminent return. While they have yet to wrestle since their 2020 release, there’s buzz about their potential involvement in NXT. Recent backstage discussions at NXT tapings have further fueled these speculations, with talks of AOP making appearances as early as next month.

Adding to the intrigue, Paul Ellering, their former manager, was reportedly deeply involved in the negotiations. This suggests that their return might see a reunion with Ellering, adding another layer of excitement for fans.

While their role in NXT remains under wraps, the wrestling community is abuzz with anticipation. With their dominant presence and history in WWE, AOP’s return could shake up the NXT landscape.
