Former AEW Star Joins WWE’s Developmental Brand
Brian Pillman Jr., previously known for his stint in AEW, has officially embarked on a new chapter in his wrestling career with WWE NXT. As reported by PWInsider, Pillman Jr. commenced his WWE journey at the Performance Center this week. This move comes after he was spotted at the Performance Center for a tryout in July.
Interestingly, there needs to be an immediate push for Pillman Jr. to appear on NXT television. The initial strategy is to integrate him into the Performance Center’s environment, allowing him to acclimate and refine his skills. Pillman Jr., who is 29, became a free agent in July after his AEW contract wasn’t renewed. He had initially debuted in AEW in 2019 and subsequently signed a full-time contract with the company in 2021.
Pillman Jr.’s tenure with AEW concluded with a match in May. Post-AEW, he remained active on the indie wrestling circuit. During a virtual signing event after his AEW exit, Pillman Jr. hinted at a significant upcoming opportunity in his wrestling career, expressing his excitement for the future and gratitude for the continued support from fans.
Before his full-time engagement with AEW, Pillman Jr. showcased his wrestling prowess in MLW.
