From the Ring to Behind the Scenes: Roode’s Transition to a WWE Producer
Bobby Roode, a prominent figure in the wrestling world, is reportedly taking on a new role within WWE following a series of injuries. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roode has begun working as a road agent at WWE’s televised events. This transition comes after Roode underwent his second neck fusion surgery within a year, which took place on his 47th birthday in May. While he remains optimistic about a full recovery, there’s no specified timeline for his return to the ring.
Roode’s shift to a backstage role mirrors the paths of other wrestlers like Tyson Kidd and Jason Jordan, who transitioned to producer roles after career-ending injuries. As a road agent, Roode will join the ranks of seasoned professionals like Kidd, Jordan, Billy Kidman, Michael Hayes, Molly Holly, Abyss, Jamie Noble, and Shane Helms, all of whom have contributed their expertise to help younger talents craft their matches for WWE television.
Roode’s last in-ring appearance was against Omos at a WWE live event in Amarillo, Texas, on June 25, 2022. His illustrious career includes accolades such as being a 2-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, 6-time TNA World Tag Team Champion, 1-time NXT Champion, 1-time WWE United States Champion, and 3-time WWE Tag Team Champion.
