Roderick Strong Opens Up About His Decision to Leave WWE and Join AEW: A Desire to Work with His Wife and Best Friends
Roderick Strong, a veteran in NXT and a well-known in-ring performer, made headlines when he left WWE to join AEW earlier this year. He debuted on the April 26th episode of AEW Dynamite, coming to the rescue of Adam Cole during his feud with Chris Jericho.
While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Strong explained the reason behind his decision to leave WWE and join AEW. He stated that it ultimately came down to wanting to work in the same company as his wife and real-life best friends. Strong said, “I really wanted to be with my buddies and with my wife. AEW reminded me so much of what I loved about Ring of Honor. The collective, everybody wants it to be better.”
Strong is currently involved in MJF and Adam Cole’s tag team storyline and seems to have made his way back to the kingdom after Cole’s actions on Dynamite. Fans are eager to see how AEW will book their storyline in the coming weeks.
