WWE Hall of Famer Reflects on Health Challenges and the Upcoming Team 3D Reunion on Impact Wrestling’s 1000th Episode
WWE Hall of Famer, D-Von Dudley, faced significant health challenges, including a stroke in 2020, which kept him away from the wrestling ring. Despite not wrestling since 2016, many assumed that the multi-time tag team champion had retired. However, D-Von is set to make a triumphant return, teaming up with his long-term partner, Bully Ray, for a special match. This reunion of Team 3D is scheduled for the 1000th Episode of Impact Wrestling on September 9.
In a recent conversation with Busted Open Radio, D-Von shared his excitement and apprehensions. “It’s been almost 10 years since I’ve been in the ring,” he said, likening his return to “riding a bike.” He expressed gratitude towards his wife, who was instrumental in recognizing his stroke symptoms, and his personal trainer, who helped him regain strength after the stroke left him with only 25% strength on his left side. D-Von also underwent back surgery, fusing multiple vertebrae. Despite these challenges, he is optimistic about the upcoming match and believes he still has a lot to offer in the ring.
