The Beast Incarnate Goes into Hibernation: Lesnar’s Absence and the Impact on WWE’s Landscape
According to Dave Meltzer on Monday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Brock Lesnar, the former seven-time WWE Champion and three-time Universal Champion, is going back into WWE hibernation. Lesnar was originally scheduled for one of the upcoming pay-per-views, but that plan has changed, and he will be gone for a while from the company.
Meltzer speculated that Lesnar would not be back for around four months, with a likely return for WrestleMania season. The 46-year-old just concluded his three-match series with Cody Rhodes at this past Saturday’s SummerSlam, taking the loss. The feud began after WrestleMania when Lesnar turned on Rhodes, leading to matches at May’s Backlash and Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. The two shook hands after Saturday’s match, ending their feud.
Lesnar’s absence from WWE programming will undoubtedly leave a void, but fans can look forward to his eventual return, possibly in time for WrestleMania.
