The Cleaner’s Potential Main Event Stint in WWE Remains a ‘What If’ Scenario
WWE had grand plans for Kenny Omega, one of the most sought-after talents in the wrestling industry. The company envisioned Omega as a top-tier talent, potentially working main event matches with the likes of Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and even Brock Lesnar. However, these plans never came to fruition as Omega, along with the rest of The Elite, chose to stick with AEW, signing substantial contracts negotiated by agent Barry Bloom.
Despite WWE’s interest, concerns were raised about Omega’s long-term physical durability, leading some to believe that Seth Rollins, considered the best in-ring wrestler in the company, had a longer tenure in that role than Omega would have had. At 39, Omega continues to perform at an impressive rate in AEW, both as an EVP and a top-tier talent. While fans may never witness a Kenny Omega vs. Brock Lesnar showdown, Omega’s story is far from over.
