Former TBS Champion Jade Cargill, currently on sabbatical, is still part of AEW, confirms Tony Khan
Jade Cargill, the former TBS Champion, has been noticeably absent from AEW programming since her first career loss to Kris Statlander at AEW Double or Nothing 2023. This unexpected defeat ended her impressive undefeated run and cost her the title. Adding to the speculation about her future, Cargill tweeted last month, “Outside of the wrestling bubble is nice. I might stay.”
In a recent conversation with PWInsider, AEW President Tony Khan shed some light on the current status of Jade Cargill in AEW. Khan confirmed that Cargill is still part of AEW and is currently on a “sabbatical.” He stated, “Well, Jade’s still with us, and Jade has been on sabbatical since her upset, I believe title loss after her unbelievable undefeated run. And Kris Statlander now is the TBS Champion, and she’s made some great defenses of the title, but Jade is still with us. And I can’t say for certain what anybody’s going to do in the future, but certainly we value Jade and everything she’s done here.”
At this point, it’s still being determined when Cargill will make her return to AEW.
