WWE’s Rising Star Grayson Waller Shares His Post-Match Experience with Edge and Michael Hayes’ Unexpected Remark
Grayson Waller, the Australian WWE superstar known for his natural heel persona, has been making waves in NXT. His recent match with WWE Hall of Famer Edge on Smackdown has significantly boosted his profile. However, a peculiar comment from Michael Hayes, another WWE veteran, left Waller with mixed feelings.
During a recent episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Waller hosted a segment of his talk show ‘The Grayson Waller Effect,’ with Edge as his surprise guest. The segment culminated in an impromptu match, where Edge declared it a sink-or-swim situation for Waller. Despite losing to Edge, Waller received praise from the veteran, who acknowledged that the Australian had swum, thus endorsing him even in defeat.
In an interview with The MMA Hour, Waller was asked about his feelings regarding the match with Edge. He revealed that Michael Hayes had told him, ‘It’s all downhill from here,’ after the match. Waller said, “Not at all. People backstage were happy, people online thought it was a good match, but for me, I had been out of the ring for eight weeks, even longer, and I hadn’t been able to train at all because of schedule. I just felt I wasn’t at my best.”
Waller also expressed his determination to improve, stating, “I’m not here to be good, I’m here to be great. Watching that match back was hard, but now that I’m starting to get back to 100% healthy, I’m going to improve on my performance. If I ever get in there with Edge again, I’m putting him down for good.”
With the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event on the horizon, fans are eagerly waiting to see what WWE has in store for the rising star.
