Artist Rob Schamberger brings to life the colorful persona of WWE superstar Matt Riddle in a unique artwork
In a recent episode of WWE’s Canvas 2 Canvas, artist Rob Schamberger painted WWE superstar Matt Riddle for the first time. Inspired by Riddle’s dynamic entrances, Schamberger decided to incorporate the monochromatic, cartoonish animals that often accompany Riddle into the ring.
The artist began with a gray tone underpainting, added color on top, and finished with a few white highlights on each animal. This technique allowed the animals to maintain a cartoonish yet somewhat realistic appearance, adding a touch of whimsy to the piece.
For Riddle himself, Schamberger opted for a different approach. He started with watercolor, added some masking fluid, and then built up layers on top. This method gave Riddle a distinct look and feel from the animals surrounding him, adding depth and dimensionality to the artwork.
Throughout the process, Schamberger’s cat, Kima, was by his side, adding a personal touch to the creation of the artwork. The finished piece is a vibrant and fun representation of Matt Riddle, matching the superstar’s energy.
