A fan’s intervention during a planned wrestling angle results in an unexpected attack on Don Callis
Don Callis, a prominent figure in the pro wrestling world, found himself at the center of a violent incident at TripleMania. What was initially part of a planned wrestling angle took an unexpected turn when a fan, misunderstanding the situation, attacked Callis.
As reported earlier, Callis was assaulted during the event. The incident, however, was not part of the scripted show but a result of a significant misunderstanding. A fan, seemingly upset by Callis’s interaction with Kenny Omega, attacked Callis from behind, causing physical harm including a ripped suit, a concussed eardrum, and a busted mouth.
According to F4WOnline, “Everything was an angle up to that point, but then a fan who was apparently upset about what Don had said to Kenny jumped Don from behind, ripped his suit, concussed his eardrum and busted open his mouth while he was trying to choke out Don from behind. Don was screaming profanities at the fan before he was pulled off, and was said to be livid afterwards.”
The incident was a result of a media person, unaware of the planned angle, attempting to intervene and separate Callis from Omega, leading to the physical altercation. This unexpected event has captured the attention of the pro wrestling world, and it remains to be seen how it will be addressed on AEW Dynamite next week.
