While part of the acclaimed Street Profits duo, Montez Ford expresses his aspiration for a solo WWE career
Montez Ford, one half of the celebrated WWE tag team duo, the Street Profits, alongside Angelo Dawkins, has expressed his desire for a solo career in WWE. Despite the duo’s success, including stints as WWE Raw and Smackdown tag team champions, Ford revealed to USA Today Sports that he is contemplating a singles run.
The Street Profits haven’t been a regular feature on WWE programs since their victory in the fatal four-way tag team match at WrestleMania 39. However, Ford shared that the immediate goal for him and Dawkins is to chase the undisputed tag team championship, possibly at SummerSlam.
Fans have speculated about a potential split of the Street Profits or individual pursuits since their NXT days in 2017. The curiosity extends to Ford’s wife, Bianca Belair, who expressed her eagerness to see Ford’s solo career unfold.
“If there is a singles opportunity, I’ll be ready to go,” Ford stated, expressing his ambition to explore all avenues in WWE. He added, “As a kid, I’ve always had a dream to become WWE champion, and you can’t do that as a tag team wrestler. You can be a part of a tag team, but it’s just me out there. That’s always been a dream of mine.”
