An unfortunate change in the lineup affects tonight’s highly anticipated event

The much-anticipated showdown between Adam Cole and Tom Lawlor at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has been unexpectedly canceled, as Adam Cole has been removed from tonight’s lineup due to illness.

In a statement released by Tony Khan on Sunday, it was announced that Adam Cole’s absence from the event has resulted in the cancellation of his match against Tom Lawlor. Khan expressed his regrets, assuring fans that despite this change, tonight’s show promises to be an unforgettable spectacle.

Khan stated, “Due to illness, @AdamColePro isn’t cleared tonight, therefore the Adam Cole vs @FilthyTomLawlor match is canceled. Despite the change, tonight will be an amazing show! Thank you to everyone watching #ForbiddenDoor, either here live in Toronto @ScotiabankArena or on PPV tonight!”

While this development brings disappointment to fans eagerly anticipating the Cole vs. Lawlor clash, the updated lineup for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door still features an array of thrilling matches. The main card boasts nine exciting contests, while the pre-show showcases four additional bouts.

Some of the marquee matchups include IWGP United States Champion Kenny Omega defending his title against Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada squaring off against Bryan Danielson, and AEW World Champion MJF defending his title against Hiroshi Tanahashi. The event also features other championship bouts and high-stakes clashes that are sure to captivate wrestling enthusiasts.

Though the absence of Adam Cole’s match is a setback, AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door remains a must-watch event, promising an evening of electrifying action and memorable moments. As the wrestling world eagerly tunes in, the anticipation for each encounter continues to build, ensuring a night that will be etched in the annals of professional wrestling history.
